2012 Club Championship

Eleven races have been chosen as the basis for the club championship. An individual can enter all 11 races but only their best 6 scores are added up and the highest scoring male and female will win the cup at the end of the year.

Points are scored as follows: the SRC runners are ranked on their finishing places within the overall field, with the ‘winner’ scoring an extra point. So 1st finisher scores 21, 2nd finisher 19 and so on down to the 20th finisher scoring 1 point.

It is up to the individual to enter their chosen races. Make sure that when you enter the race you state Stonehaven Running Club as your club and we will then be able to access the results and easily allocate points.

2011 Improvers Cup

The Improvers Cup competition is designed to reward runners who are able to show a steady improvement over a season.

On each Improvers Cup session, the runners are timed over the same 5K course. The first time is used only as a base time - on each subsequent run, the time will be compared to that runners fastest time of the year to calculate a % indicating the improvement. The % scores of all competitors that week are sorted and ranked with points then being awarded.  If there are 24 scoring competitors, then the biggest improver scores 24, 2nd biggest 23 and so on. At the end of the season, the top 4 scores (out of a possible 5) are counted for each runner and the runner with the most points wins the competition.

 

Competitors will be measured on the following dates (provisional) :

  1. Monday 25th April and Tuesday 26th April
  2. Monday 30th May and Tuesday 31st May
  3. Monday 27th June and Tuesday 28th June
  4. Monday 29th August and Tuesday 30th August
  5. Monday 26th September and Tuesday 27th September
  6. Monday 24th October and Tuesday 25th October

Notes:

  1. There is no Improvers Cup session in July
  2. Abnormally high % improvement (say over 5%) can be discounted at discretion of organiser!
